Best friend tries too hard?
they're really insecure but it's getting to the point where I'm almost embarrassed to be associated with them, which also makes me feel like such a loser of a friend. They think it's cool to drink until they pass out every night, sleep with lots of people (they're nice! they like me!) and all they talk about is pot. The clothes are full of rhinestones and too big earrings, make-up caked on. (Which she doesn't need. shes naturally very pretty) all because she thinks this will make her "cool" and people will like her. The thing is they're SUCH a great friend, and I completely love her to death when it's just us and she's not trying... but when we're out they talk too loud and act so different. What should I do? Should I try and find new friends? I don't really want to 100% stop talking to her..
I know WHY she does it, but that doesn't give her an excuse really :
Im going through a similar situation. I feel as Im growing distance from my old friends. So to answer the question, YES get new friends but you can interact w/ your old ones once in a blue. It seems you're maturing & they arent (atleast from the story). But also, you cant judge ppl. If thats what they wanna do then as a friend, you have to accept it. Its not your thing but its theirs.
