How can I make my own sterling silver pentagram?
Ok I got on the Internet & it didn't really help at all. so all I want to do is melt down some of my old sterling silver jewelry and make a really nice sterling silver pentagram pendant but I don't even know where to start & it must be somthing a can do that's (affordable) (buying a huge furnace isn't.)

Melting your sterling silver jewelry would require very high heat, and forming the shape you desire would require a mold. This is not the cheapest way to go by any means.
For an easy, much cheaper alternative, try using precious metal clay. The product I use is PMC3, and is composed of silver particles ground into dust and mixed with an organic binder and water. You shape it just like clay and then fire it over a regular kitchen gas burner, or in a kiln if you prefer.

You can see the types of things that can be done with it if you check out the other pages. For your design, making coils or "snakes" of pmc, attaching them with slip, and firing it would work well. If you want it to be flat, gently run a roller over it, using two stacks of playing cards to ensure an even thickness. About six on each side should make it strong enough.
You could probably sell or pawn you unwanted jewelry to get the money for the clay, but it is not really that expensive. The organic binder burns out and you are left with pure, 999 silver- jeweler's grade- after firing it.
You could also use the PMC Silver syringe if you want a more delicate design, but definitely use several layers for strength. Here is a link showing one of mine in progress and explaining how to use it.
