Belly Piercing - Is it normal if it's loose?
I got my belly pierced about 2 months ago. It seemed to be infected, and also seems to have migrated/rejected slightly as there is some purple scarring under the bottom hole.
It seems a lot healthier lately, except for the fact that it sits very loose. In fact, the hole seems to be 2x the size of the jewelry. Is this a bad sign? I went to a professional piercer who told me to just keep cleaning it, but it's still very sore after two months and I just don't think it's normal for the hole to be so large.
OH MY! I would say not to try Bactine on any open wound, puncture wound....any type of piercing the BEST BEST thing you can do for it, is go buy some pure sea salt, and dilute it to just maybe a half a bottle cap of salt, to one drinking glass of warm warm water. Bactine's website doesn't even recommend for piercings (puncture wounds)
If the hole is getting larger than the ring, it is definitly starting to reject it, the only thing realistically to do is take it out and keep cleaning it with warm sea salt water soaks. If you notice a kind of 'bulge' or 'lump' anywhere on or near the ring, make SURE to take it out and keep doing soaks until the hole closes, as this can become horribly infected and can become a small, but yucky looking growth. It happened to my wife's ear when she attempted to stretch and it did the same yours did.
I would say steer clear. bodies are a WONDERFUL thing and can adapt amazingly to new situations, your body can heal itself just fine as long as you are careful not to play with the ring and get it dirty lol...
