I would like information on an antique GORHAM silver 5 piece tea set?
I inherited an 5 piece GORHAM silver tea set from my grandmother, who received it as a wedding gift in the 30's. Each piece has five lines on the bottom. Line one is an ANCHOR hallmark. Line two is four letters in boxes. Line three reads GORHAM. Line four read Y1504. The final and fifth lines relays the type of piece (i.e., 3/4 pint, etc.). I am trying to determine if it is silver plate or sterling. I have done some research, but can't determine the style of my set. It has ornate handles, otherwise, the piece is not ornate or engraved with fruits (like some I've seen on line). The lip and base have a ribboned style decoration. Thank you so much!
Each of the 5 pieces has serial numbers Y1500 through Y1505

What, exactly, does line 2 say?
Edit: Even without knowing what line 2 says (it would help with dating), I can tell you that the set is silverplate holloware. Replacements.com is a good place to research china, silver service and flatware patterns. While your pattern is not currently found on the site, every piece with the 'Y' prefix is silverplate holloware.
Other research of Gorham marks indicates that the square cartouche (what may be the boxes in line 2) represents items made in the 1940s.
