Would you buy from a website if it says unauthenticated message? Does that mean its not protected shopping?
I found a unique bead that I have been searching everywhere recently online at this website called goodybeads.com however upon check out my browser indicated that the website is unauthenticated, where the gold encrypted lock usual is at the bottom of the page. I only purchase from protected websites and this puzzled me. What should I do? Should I continue to order? I tried looking up the site on bbb.org and was unsuccessful.
ps: another website I found has this certain bead also but its a cash on delivery only (which also puzzles and worry's me)
What should I do? Serious answers please
I went to the site and I think you'll be fine. The only thing "authenticated" means, is that a business has filled out forms to match their security certificate with their business name.
This site is showing up unauthenticated, which could be a concern if it were something financially critical (like a bank), but if all they're doing is selling beads, then the authentication is not terribly important. You've got the standard credit-card protections when ordering online, regardless of whether the site is authenticated or not.
